Machine & Production

Machine limits, inks, finishing and production marks.

01

Machine profile

Set the maximum paper width, maximum matrix height, plate size and gripper allowance for the actual press. Confirm all dimensions in millimeters.

02

Layout boundaries

Check the calculated Total Imposition Size against the machine profile before generating. Bleed and spacing affect the occupied area.

03

Process and spot inks

Review CMYK and spot channels detected from the artwork. Confirm that the assigned ink types correspond to actual printing units.

04

White ink

White Ink is a printing ink and consumes printing-unit capacity. Check the dedicated white separation and overprint behavior before production.

05

Finishing operations

Spot varnish and embossing are finishing processes, not additional process-color units. Keep these categories separate when reviewing capacity.

06

Production marks

Inspect registration crosses, corner crosses, plate color indicators, tone scales, eye marks and gripper references. Marks should reflect actual ink requirements.

07

Final production check

Before releasing the job, confirm winding direction, cutting-rule placement, print-unit count, finishing layers and PDF output.
